Role Description:

Citi Corporate and Investment Banking provides comprehensive financial advisory and capital raising services to top corporations, financial institutions and governments worldwide. Clients receive tailored financial solutions and strategic advisory services on a wide range of M&A transactions and capital-raising activities including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financial restructurings, underwriting and distributing equity, debt, and derivative securities. Our bankers are organized into industry, product and regional groups and work closely with our partners in capital markets, sales and trading, research and global relationship banking to offer customized financing strategies for our clients.

  • Assist with the origination, structuring and execution of transactions and financing
  • Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses
  • Leads Change:
    • Work closely with all partners to ensure the Corporate Bank fulfills its reaffirmed role of being at the center of the CIB's relationship management strategy by participating in client planning, product agnostic cross sell and effective capital allocation
    Act as an Owner:
    • Ensure that proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards, including stringent ethical standards
    • Evaluate the credit worthiness of clients and actively manage and oversee the preparation of credit approval proposals
    • Builds Great Teams:
      • Effectively manage Analysts and Associates, delegating and reviewing their work as well as creating a culture of collaboration in the team
      Drives Client Value:
      • Build credibility and establish trust with clients by identifying client needs and proactively providing strategic solutions on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance issues, capital raising (issuance of equity and debt securities), risk management and other financial issues
      • Develop sophisticated financial models necessary to assess investments, reorganizations, acquisitions, or other corporate transactions such as M&As, leveraged buyout and initial public offerings
      • Works as a Partner:
        • Heavy marketing and execution responsibilities which are coordinated with senior bankers, relationship associates and product/investment banking partners
        • Partner effectively with the Investment banking team to execute episodic transactions
        • Work with product partners to provide a wide range of treasury and corporate finance solutions including  cash management, trade, vendor finance, FX, general credit, loans, debt capital markets, share repurchase, and interest rate and equity derivatives


        • Qualifications

          • 6+ years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically within Banking
          • Strong credit, negotiations, communications, sales, analytical and organizational skills
          • Experience with large corporate clients, capital raising and M&A transactions
          • Strong work ethic, high energy level, able to work independently and think strategically
          • Master's degree in Business Administration or alternatively 6+ years in a similar role at prior investment banking institution
