Vice President, Channel Development, Bancassurance

Responsibilities

Channel Engagement

  • Monitor & analyze segment performance, identifying & proactively engaging key Banca functions to support segments on delivering Banca targets.
  • Own & drive two-way communication between segments & Banca team, particularly on key Banca initiatives.
  • Support Banca strategies and influence key stakeholders in each segment to gain support.
  • Assist Head of Bancassurance/SVP Product & Channel Development to monitor day-to-day business momentum and quality, as well as working with channel heads for necessary sales management support.

Channel Support
  • Key point of contact with segments on day-to-day issues requiring Banca team support and as key liaison with respective Manulife's support & training teams.
  • Effectively coordinate, own and handle each matter arising from each segment; efficiently follow-up with relevant key stakeholders.
  • Working with partners from channels, HR, insurers, to formalize and ongoing manage qualification hierarchy of all specialists.

Enterprise-wide Training Program - Banca Academy

  • Drive and manage the establishment of a DBS internal Banca sales academy structure.
  • Design, plan and manage training programs to all segments in compliance with internal & regulatory standards.
  • Leverage internal and external training/ coaching/ consulting resources to establish a market-leading Banca specialist learning curriculum.
  • Document & keep proper training records; own and maintain version controls on all training materials.

Complaints Handling

  • 1st line assessor for Bancassurance team - develop & implement complaints reviewing & approval protocol.
  • Provide thorough assessment, recommendation with justification, and execution for any deviation/complaints seeking approval from Banca Head and senior management.


Requirements
  • Degree holder in Business Administration or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 solid years of Bancassurance or insurance experience; General Insurance experience is a plus
  • D igital channel experience will be a plus.
  • HKFI paper 1,3,5
  • Professional designation in financial planning / insurance [e.g. CFP, CLU, CHFC, FLMI]
  • Good project management skill
  • Sound understanding of HK Insurance market
  • Strong marketing and project management experience
  • Understanding of financial reporting principles
  • Ability to structure, position, package bancanssurance solutions, meeting customers' needs and generating benefits to business
  • People management experience is highly preferred but not a must
