Functional Overview   

Treasury is dedicated to managing the Firm's Balance Sheet in the most effective way while providing continuous liquidity regardless of market conditions. Treasury Funding Desk performs the following key functions:

Manages the investments of the liquidity pool [Cash, Deposits, Govt Bonds]

Pricing of Loans and Deposits for Wealth Management Division

Estimates, manages and funds currency requirements of the firm through FX swaps and intercompany loans

Manages the regional group funding to ensure compliance with our liquidity models

Executes capital related funding activities and their hedges (e.g. Sub-debt, Capital Injections, Dividends and CTA hedging)

Mandates, prices and manages Nomura short and long term debt issuances in private and public offerings

Manages interest rate and FX risks of the corporate division

Manages regional policy and procedure documentation

Job description   
•Work closely with the Regional Head of Funding in a team of 4 across Hong Kong and Singapore
•Ability to communicate and understand Treasury’s principles and policies and has the ability to apply them to the business line activities
•Funding and forecasting the firm’s currency and liquidity requirements for our global (Asian ccys) and regional entities (All ccys) [including restricted currencies, onshore and offshore funding via NDFs]
•Pricing of structured note issuance transactions and internal loans and deposits to our Wealth Management Division
•Identification and realization of funding efficiencies, optimisation and risk mitigating opportunities
•Ensuring compliance with regulatory, credit and management imposed liquidity and risk management requirements
•Maintenance and oversight of trade and policy documentation

Key Experience & Skills   
•Experience in a Treasury funding role (Treasury/ EMTN/ Money Markets/ FX desk) is preferable. Candidates from risk management areas with strong market knowledge will also be considered.
•Bond maths fluency and familiarity with debt capital markets, foreign exchange & secured financing (e.g. repo & stock loan)
•Strong analytic skills that can be applied in a commercial situations
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy
•Ability to work on projects and perform under tight deadlines
•Sound understanding of liquidity management concepts
•Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate confidently across the business lines
