Job Description
As a Vice President in Front office equity IT, your main responsibilities will include:
- Deliver enhancements and integrations for Front Office & Middle Office equity applications
- Own the full SDLC: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
- Act as a core IT partner to Front Office Equity users
- Provide 2nd/3rd level production support for trading systems
- Troubleshoot production issues and support trading operations when required
- Ensure compliance with SDLC, development standards, and change control
- Manage vendors for system enhancements and socialised support
- Collaborate with regional teams to support cross-market trading connectivity
A successful Vice President in Front office equity IT should have:
- 8+ years of IT development experience in an investment banking / capital markets environment
- Strong experience in Front-to-Middle Office equity trading systems
- Proven background supporting production trading environments
- Experience with regional back-to-back trading flows (HK, China, Japan, APAC, US preferred)
- Languages: .NET / C#, Java, Python (scripting)
- Databases: Strong SQL; MS SQL Server, Sybase
- Engineering: Design patterns, data structures, multithreading, messaging
- Tools: Maven; Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence
- DevOps: Automated testing, CI/CD, DevOps best practices
- Solid knowledge of Cash Equities, Futures, Swaps, Options
- Strong understanding of FIX messaging, broker and exchange connectivity
- Experience integrating trading platforms such as Fidessa or similar
- Understanding of algorithmic trading strategies and low-touch execution
