As a result of expansion my client a leading global banking group is looking to recruit an experience Technology Risk or IT Audit professional to join its Operational Risk team in Hong Kong.

The Technology Operational Risk Manager will be responsible for:- Risk Governance - ensuring the Head of Technology and relevant staff understand and accept their operational risk responsibilities and that the 1st line Technology Operational Risk Managers are effective in identifying, monitoring, managing, remediating and escalating risks and issues; Risk Appetite – assessing the operational risk profile to maintain alignment with country risk appetite, maintaining operational risk capability and a control environment which is in line with operational risk and assessing the operational risk profile for Technology and maintaining alignment with risk appetite by rebalancing controls that may be required in response to internal and external factors; Risk Control Ownership – challenging completeness of risk identification, monitoring and assessment of the corresponding control activities required within the end to end processes to identify and follow through the remediation by the 1st line Technology of any significant deficiencies whilst ensuring compliance with operational risk policies and procedures. The Technology Operational Risk Manager will also be responsible for Risk Identification and Assessment, Risk Acceptance, Risk Monitoring, Risk & Loss Reporting, Stress Testing and Strategy & Planning.

The successful candidate will be a degree holder with at least 5 years’ experience in an Operational Risk, Technology Risk, IT Audit or Technology Control role. Applicants will need to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the technology risk/control environment and of a bank’s approach to the management of operational risk. Candidates will need to have sound judgement and the necessary courage to perform a control role and maintain effective working relationships.
