The Firm

The firm manages a global multi-asset portfolio across public and private markets, deploying capital directly into listed equities and structured products, and allocating to leading global private funds alongside selective direct and co-investment activity. The team of ~40 professionals is anchored in Hong Kong and led by senior investment executives with backgrounds at global asset managers and Asia-focused alternative investment firms.

The Role

You will underwrite AI and Technology opportunities across the public and private book, with a specific focus on the Asia and China ecosystem and its US-facing counterparts. Public coverage spans AI infrastructure, hyperscaler and cloud economics, enterprise software, semiconductor supply chain, applied AI, and robotics. Private coverage spans late-stage growth, direct co-investments, and secondary-market opportunities. You will report into the Head of Public Investment and collaborate closely with the Head of Private Investment and the CIO. You will contribute to the firm's proprietary big-data and AI-driven investment process.

Key Responsibilities

1. Source, underwrite, and monitor listed single-name equities across AI and technology sub-sectors in Asia, China, and the United States.
2. Evaluate late-stage private, direct co-investment, and secondary opportunities in the same ecosystem, in collaboration with the private-investment team.
3. Build and maintain a differentiated primary-research network across founders, senior operators, engineers, VC / secondaries investors, industry experts, and supply-chain nodes.
4. Produce written investment memoranda that combine fundamental analysis, primary-source insight, and the firm's proprietary data and AI analytics.
5. Present investment recommendations at the firm's investment committee and defend them under structured, data-driven challenge.
6. Collaborate cross-functionally with the big-data / analytics team, the private team, and the operations organisation.

Requirements

1. Approximately 7-12 years of buy-side investment experience covering AI, Technology, or TMT.
2. Demonstrable crossover underwriting — genuine reps on both public single-name equities and private / secondary deals.
3. Deep, verifiable primary-research network across the Asia (with China anchor) AI tech ecosystem — founders, C-suite operators, engineers, VC / secondaries investors, industry experts, and supply-chain contacts.
4. Mandarin at business-professional level, plus English at professional working level. Cantonese a plus.
5. Right to work in Hong Kong or in the United States at the point of offer.
6. High-EQ, collaborative style with the ability to work inside a structured, data-driven investment process.
