Corporate Communications’ purpose is to protect and build Nomura’s brand and reputation – in support of Nomura’s vision to be a leading, client-driven, global financial services firm. It is the central function that coordinates all internal and external communications activities in the company.

 

The team in Asia ex-Japan has four functions working closely with the executive team and businesses: External Communications, Internal Communications, Branding & Marketing/Corporate Events, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).  


Nomura is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to support the firm’s Corporate Communications team in Asia ex-Japan. The successful candidate will support the administrative tasks for each of the four functions, organize and coordinate internal events, and manage third-party vendors.

 
Key Experience & Skills   
 

Responsibilities

Team assistant
•Act as assistant to head of Corporate Communications
•Manage team administrative tasks including organizing team meetings, arranging travel, filing expense claims, preparing reports and presentations, distributing weekly key points/team meeting minutes
•Support each function with daily tasks such as media clippings and internal communication channel management
•Act as office manager for the department
•Handle all ad-hoc requests related to IT, Multimedia, Mail Room, Copy Room and CRES
•Responsible for set-up of computer & phone lines, iPhone & mobile connections for current team members, relocated staff, and new joiners
•Ensure office upkeep is done in timely manner including stationery items
•Handle other ad-hoc projects and assignments as required

 

Event coordination
•Manage events from conception to reconciliation, including pre-event organization, management of budget, execution onsite, staff management, final cost analysis and feedback surveys
•Negotiate contract terms with venues and suppliers
•Contribute to overall cost savings through vendor negotiations
•Manage multiple events simultaneously with a pro-active and creative approach to event management.
•Maintain a project timeline for all key events
•Liaise directly with internal stakeholders
•Maintain industry contacts, external benchmarking and education
•Control all contract and financial deadlines
•Any other related tasks

 

Gift vendor management
•Source, conduct due diligence, and maintain a list of credible vendors
•Negotiate contracts and pricing for items sourced from third party vendors
•Ensure all invoices are paid on time
•Maintain internal corporate gift website
•Ensure inventory of corporate gifts is maintained at appropriate level
•Propose unique, high-quality items that can be used as corporate gifts to help improve to firm’s brand image
•Any other related tasks

 

Requirements
•Bachelor degree or equivalent with at least five years’ work experience in corporate environment, preferably financial services
•Excellent organization skills with high attention to detail and ability to multi-task
•Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
•Strong written and oral communication in English and Cantonese, Mandarin a plus
•Ability to adapt to change and handle crisis situations effectively
•Experience in event management a plus
