The Senior Risk Manager will be responsible for reviewing, enhancing and maintaining the risk management framework and the risk policies and procedures across Asia ensuring that investment risk, corporate and operational risk are aligned with the Asian regulatory landscape. The jobholder will identify, assess, measure, monitor, mitigate and report on investment risk and operational risk as it relates to funds and where issues arise bring attention to the portfolio managers, first line risk managers and the risk committees. The incumbent will prepare periodic reporting to global, regional and local risk committees, keep abreast of external regulations and regulatory bodies and assess any potential impact for the region and monitor and oversee delegated functions and outsourced service providers. The Senior Risk Manager will proactively investigate risk events and be responsible for incident and breach reporting ensuring escalation procedures are in place across the group and other relevant stakeholders and committees.
The successful candidate will have at least 7 years’ experience in a risk or quantitative focused role at an investment management firm ideally having gained experience in a regulated role. Applicants will need to demonstrate detailed knowledge of risk frameworks, risk appetite of investment funds and financial products – Equities, Fixed Income, Multi-Asset, Private Markets and Derivatives. Candidates are required to have solid experience in investment risk and those who have additional experience of corporate risk and operational risk are preferred. Applicants will need the ability to work in a global business, build strong relationships and be comfortable presenting and interacting with Boards, Senior Management and Regulators across multiple jurisdictions. Candidates will also be required to have strong experience and competency with regulations including the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Financial Supervisory Commission.
