Our client, a well-established bank, is now seeking an experienced candidate to join their team

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring that operational risks are managed in accordance with the Group Standards, relevant guidelines & standards 
  • Provide an aligned view on the overall non-financial risk picture, influence, engage, contribute and initiate discussion on material operational risks 
  • Comply with the detailed expectations and responsibilities for their core role in operational risk management through ensuring all actions take account of operational risks, and through using the Group Operational Risk Management Framework appropriately to manage those risks 
  • Continually reassess the operational risks associated and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology 
  • Support and embed change initiatives, identifying and developing new or improved delivery mechanisms 
  • Ensure all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.  Address any areas of concern in conjunction with entity management and/or the appropriate department 
  • Adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators 
  • Co-ordinate and manage several complex projects 
  • As part of the risk team, provide support to other risk functions when necessary

Requirements:

  • University degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a relevant role in asset management, fund management company, or audit is preferred 
  • High energy, detail-oriented, and capable self-starter with the ability to explore innovative ways to perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; demonstrated experience delivering successful outcomes on projects  
  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills and decision making ability 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills as well as spoken English and Chinese 
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
