Senior Credit Risk Analyst (Financial Institutions / Sovereigns)

The Bank for International Settlements is seeking a Senior Credit Risk analyst to conduct credit analysis of a variety of entities – primarily financial institutions and sovereigns – alongside a second risk colleague in our representative office in Hong Kong SAR. While working largely independently within the Hong Kong office, you and your risk colleague are both part of the Credit Risk team based in Basel.     
We are an international organisation promoting global monetary and financial stability and, a bank for central banks. We have recently embarked on a new strategy that includes expanding our range of products, widening our investment universe and extending our customer outreach.

Your contribution to our mission
You will support us by formulating proposals and recommendations for credit ratings and associated limit structures. You will monitor compliance with credit rules and limits, and authorise temporary limit extensions. You will help develop new financial products and contribute to the specification and testing of IT solutions for measuring credit risk. You will also dedicate some of your time to compliance matters in the representative office, under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, and contribute to initiatives of the representative office when needed.

Your qualifications and experience
You will have a university degree and at least five years’ experience as a credit analyst specialising in sovereigns and financial institutions, preferably in the Asia-Pacific region. You are a self-starter, able to work independently in our regional office with multiple reporting lines. We look forward to meeting candidates with excellent written and spoken English; written and spoken Mandarin would be a strong advantage.

All new staff members are recruited on a fixed-term basis without expectation either of any contract renewal or conversion.
