We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Capital Projects Manager .

Principal responsibilities

  • Provide effective, compliant and functional leadership across the full breadth of the portfolio for the country.
  • Lead and manage all outsourced services for Capital Projects, resolving any underperformance or issues and value add initiatives, acting as a point of escalation for issues.
  • Continually embed the CRE strategy across the Country by identifying any further outsourcing opportunities or supporting in house delivery, where required.
  • Coach individuals and implement enhancements to best practice and performance within countries and across Capital Projects
  • Review, maintain and develop Capital Projects contracts and has the ability to enhance supplier relationships and support CREs partnership approach to improve performance and to develop strategic recommendation and amendments.
  • Collaborate with and proactively manage stakeholders in the relevant HSBC Business, Functions and within CRE to maximize the integrated planning, budgeting, service enhancements and delivery for the Bank.
  • Managing the high level delivery of specialist services within country, functionally reporting to the Head of the sub function in Region.
  • Effectively utilizating external providers will be key in the success of this role. The appropriate balance of in house vs outhouse resources is currently under review.
  • Managing the suppliers to ensure they are the primary source of technical expertise and the delivery of services is through their resource in country, avoiding duplication of resource
  • Working under pressure to ensure adequate resilience, capacity and performance across the business and geographic area
  • Continually responding to and providing solutions for numerous, diverse and complex real estate issues pertaining to the area of specialism, including contractual and logistical issues
  • Working effectively across a high number of diverse stakeholders, with often conflicting viewpoints, agendas and appetite for the pace of change
  • The role will also have direct responsibility for ensuring that HSBCs CRE Capital Projects operations are not unintentionally interrupted resulting in down time and business loss.
  • The role operates in key countries with extensive geographic footprint, complex internal and external environment and large portfolio presence and may include CRE portfolio of over 200,000 square feet, retail network of 20 branches or above, total number of HSBC employees and contingent workers in the country exceeding 2,000, presence of GSC and HSBC Technology Services in addition to office buildings, branch network and any residential buildings in country and Complex regulatory environment
  • The role has to interact with senior stakeholders within CRE and in Global Businesses and Functions


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Professional qualification in a Project Management, Construction or a relevant equivalent
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Real Estate Supplier activities and issues faced by large corporates
  • Sound understanding of how banks operate, key challenges faced in the operating environment
  • Expertise and knowledge in relation to Supplier and technical expertise within a real estate context
  • Significant experience in managing CRE activities in country
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects of timely and quality results
  • Demonstrated results in delivering successful risk management and control processes
  • Good knowledge of real estate technology platforms for planning, analysis and decision making
  • Demonstrated results in managing suppliers and owing supplier and stakeholder issues
  • Proven ability to prioritise competing demands and handle ambiguity
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and people management skills
  • Strong organisational, planning and project management skills
  • Demonstrated commerciality on supplier management and areas balancing costs, customer demands, meeting high standards and CREs requirements and supplier relationship management.
  • Ability to engage with senior executives of the Bank in country and deliver high level presentations
  • Role model and advocate for HSBC acting at all times in a way that complies with the Banks code of conduct, ethics and stance on bribery
  • Ability to grasp, understand and independently handle new projects and ideas
