We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Business Finance Manager, Global Private Banking .

Principal responsibilities

  • The role holder will report into the Head of Global Private Banking Business Finance, Asia Pacific.
  • Asia Pacific regional focus such as Hong Kong, China, Philippines, and Taiwan.
  • Converts financial and non financial information to business intelligence that guide management decision making and contribute to strategy formulation
  • Contribute to the development of growth and profitability strategies. Lead business case preparation to ensure sound financial analysis and strategic alignment of new business initiatives, ensuring that stakeholders fully understand the inherent risk and rewards, including regulatory and tax implications
  • Participate as an active member of the business leadership team, in the relevant Market Executive committees and supporting committees.
  • Liaise closely with the other Global Private Banking Business Finance heads to ensure global alignment.
  • The incumbent is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
  • Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which one is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
  • Maintain HSBC Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

  • Bachelor degree holder
  • Holder of a formally recognised finance qualification such as Certified Public Accountant.
  • Experience in Finance area such as Financial Accounting and Control, Business Information Analysis, Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Capital Management, Taxation, Accounting Policy, Change Management
  • Have Asia Pacific regional working exposure such as Hong Kong, China, Philippines, and Taiwan.
  • Strong relationship and communication skills.
  • Have customer focused mindset
  • Strong analytical skills with a commercial bias, and an excellent grasp of business drivers
  • Be proficient in identifying significant internal and external Business Finance trends, issues and findings with significant implications across business performance
  • Proven lateral leadership skills, demonstrating ability to use initiative and effect change through people in a large matrix organisation.
  • Ability to highlight issues, formulate recommendations and drive through their execution in a collective environment
  • Strong management information background, both in terms of required content, production processes and understanding what drives the numbers reported
  • Strategic thinker and pragmatic implementer able to develop efficient methods of bringing about change.
