As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for helping the team to reach consensus for what can be achieved during a specific period of time i.e. sprint, helping the team to reach consensus during the daily scrum, helping the team to stay focused and follow the agreed-upon rules for daily scrums, removing obstacles that are impeding the team's progress and protecting the team from outside distractions.

Role –  Scrum Master
Client – Largest Tier-1 Bank 
Job Type – Full Time, Contractual and Permanent both

Responsibilities:

  1. Run daily, weekly and monthly agile rituals efficiently and strictly
  2. Tracks work progress to identify blockages and developer divergence from allocated tasks
  3. Blocks Business, Operational Staff and Product owners from interference with Development Structure
  4. Polices channels for submission of development work requests
  5. Implements structure changes and strategy that are generated by agile retrospectives
  6. Blocks stories that do not contain the right level of detail from entering the Dev Structure
  7. Blocks changes to work once in development without following the proper re-evaluation process
  8. Removes blockers with extreme prejudice when raised by development team
  9. Understanding and focus on business outcomes
  10. Understanding and efficiency in collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders.

Tasks:

  1. Guide and coach the team and organization to follow Agile/Scrum practices
  2. Guide and coach the team to become self-organized
  3. Help the team assess their ‘Scrum Maturity’ and higher levels of maturity
  4. Improve transparency within the team
  5. Remove impediments
  6. Guide the team to find the right person within the organization that can help them
  7. Build a safe and trusting environment where conflicts can be managed in a healthy way without fear of blame
  8. Be responsible for supporting and coaching the Product Owner on Agile/Scrum practices.​

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, IT or Engineering or equivalent development experience
  2. Experienced in a ScrumMaster or Agile Project Manager role for 3-5 years for a software development team
  3. Knowledge of Agile approaches – Kanban, Scrum, XP, etc.
  4. Knowledge and experience with Agile techniques – Automated Testing, User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Testing, Pairing, Agile Games, etc.
  5. Experience running Scrum with JIRA
  6. Certified ScrumMaster is a plus
  7. Good skills and knowledge of facilitation, continuous improvement, empowerment, transparency and servant leadership
  8. Able to communicate in Cantonese and possess the English language skill and the attitude to support users at Executive levels.
  9. Having Domain experience - health or fitness related apps
