What you will do
You will be the team lead responsible for managing the client service partners within our Global Fund Services (GFS) business. These client service partners will include relationship managers and client service managers. This will involve staff management and career development, and as the leader enhancing the teams culture and performance objectives. You will allocate client accounts to relationship managers according to client needs whilst actively interacting across these client groups, to ensure service standards are maintained and key deliverables are met.
  • Manages a GFS team of relationship managers and client service managers. GFS segments supported include asset managers, hedge funds, private capital managers, and investment operations outsourcing
  • Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the unit
  • Develops periodic goals, organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication
  • Determines staffing needs, makes hiring and firing decisions, handles salary administration, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities
  • Allocates client accounts to relationship managers according to client needs. Maintains communication with sales staff to anticipate needs effectively and provide support when needed
  • Ensures all controls and oversight governance for compliance, audit and risk are effectively executed
  • Prepares monthly management reporting covering client satisfaction, staffing, new business, issues and escalation, and presents to senior management
  • Oversees client profitability. Understands competitive environment and anticipates and identifies opportunities for cross selling, develops pricing strategies, and works with the unit to enhance profitability
  • Provides input and support to budget management process
  • Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities
  • Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
  • Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
  • Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise.
Your Knowledge/Skills:
  • A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred
  • Related Industry qualification is preferred
  • Asset management or asset servicing business experience or knowledge required
  • Proven background in people management gained in a client service or investment operations environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively at a senior level (CEO/COO) - English (required) with Cantonese / Mandarin language proficiency highly regarded
  • A strategic leadership mindset and excellent team management skills are required to determine the unit goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of the staff
  • Self-motivated and capable of driving business independently. Proven client relationship skills with a history of working with Business Development teams
  • Excellent skills in negotiation, delegation, and sales are necessary to service the client relationship
  • Experience and strength with building controls and processes to mitigate risks across clients, operations, audit and compliance issues
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge is required
