This position will report into the Regional Head of Financial Governance and will assist with ad-hoc tasks in the group office. You will be required to monitor the capital management of the local business units. Manage the internal control system policy. Monitor the implementation of group policies. Oversea the process and governance on procurement for senior stakeholders. Act as country liaison for the group, becoming an SME in a regional entity. The role will require minimal travel. Candidates from a Big 4 will be considered if their client portfolio is within either Life or Non-Life Insurance.

Job Responsibility

Capital Management

  • Monitor solvency position of local business units
  • Work with Head Office and local business units in order to ensure capital is injected timely so that local operations comply with local requirements (ie. solvency and liquidity requirements)
  • Adoption and implementation of capital management plan and policies by local business units

Internal Control Systems Policy

  • Manage all Group Financial Reporting Risk activities (i.e. confirmation letter, testing session)
  • Monitor internal audit findings to assess impact on financial reporting risk

Group Policies (CFO Function)

  • Review Group Policies and assess implication on local business units
  • Monitor implementation of Group Policies by local business Units


  • Establish the governance for Procurement for key stakeholders
  • Manage the procurement process for group office

Country Liaison

  • Develop thorough understanding of company business and strategy
  • Monitor and review monthly company's performance
  • Ensure financial reports are submitted by local business units on timely basis
  • Work with team members on the yearly planning cycle

Key Requirements

  • Degree in accounting/finance or Relevant accounting qualification (CA/CPA etc)
  • 5+ years of work experience with some knowledge of Insurance industry
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is a must.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance and accounting of various operations of insurance business
  • Good knowledge of interpretation and analysis of financial reports
  • Meticulous and detail orientated
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
