Department Profile
The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities.

Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage is a leading provider of clearing and custody, financing, securities lending, client technology and customized reporting services to hedge fund clients and asset owners globally.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prospect new hedge fund client relationships to bring new Prime Brokerage business on-board, effectively identify and address clients’ requirements/expectations from Morgan Stanley
• Work closely with Risk and Finance on sample portfolio feedback, ongoing pricing discussions, and account reviews
• Collaborate across teams within the Institutional Equities Division as well as various departments within Morgan Stanley to deliver products and resources across the globe in a seamless manner
• Manage existing PB client relationships and capture organic business opportunities or increase market shares
• Assist senior members of the Prime Brokerage team on sales process, business planning, and account reviews by developing very good understanding of the client base, industry trends, and business opportunities/challenges

Capital Introductions
• Develop existing and identify new hedge fund allocator relationships in the region
• Provide consultative advice to hedge fund clients on the asset-raising environment, fund terms, optimal marketing approach, and relevant target allocators
• Prepare bespoke presentation materials covering industry performance, exposure and positioning, allocator trends and flows, peer group analysis, and bespoke marketing plans
• Work closely with colleagues in Prime Brokerage and various sales desks across different divisions to win new business, assess new business opportunities, and monetize client relationships


Qualifications (required skillsets and experience)
• 5-8 years of experience in the financial industry, ideally including experience with hedge funds, knowledge of hedge fund strategies and Prime brokerage business model
• Strong team player who work effectively in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven experience and capability in a client-facing role
• Strong analytical skill, can understand, analyze, and identify trends from numbers / data
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skill with attention to details
• Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• A positive, self-motivated, goal-oriented individual with strong work ethics
• Compliance of professional ethics and regulatory environment, demonstrate best-in-class professional integrity
• Fluent in written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin (nice to have)
• Highly motivated and ability to work independently
