As the Portfolio Manager/Investment Analyst for Emerging Market Corporates, you will be part of the Asian Fixed Income team primarily responsible for managing Asia and global emerging market (EM) credit portfolios. You will contribute actively to the global emerging market corporate strategy and decision making process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will undertake market analysis in specific industries (e.g. commodities, infrastructure) in emerging markets;
  • Formulate investment strategy for Asian and Emerging markets and contribute investment ideas to global portfolios;
  • Build and maintain a network of information sources;
  • Day to day management of Asian and Emerging Market credit portfolios;
  • Run sector or regional portfolio models for emerging market corporate credits;
  • Implement investment strategy and trade ideas at portfolio levels;
  • Provide back-up investment support for macro and credit portfolio managers;
  • Provide support to our Product and Sales  team which include explaining investment philosophy, investment process, market outlook and portfolio strategy of Asia and EM credit portfolios
  • Assist in the development and design of new product strategies;

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following requisites:

  • Degree graduate in Economics, Finance or any other relevant disciplines
  • Possess CFA qualification is an advantage
  • At least 7 -10 years of work experience in global EM portfolio management (equity or fixed income) or any other relevant industry sector background (e.g investment bank (sell side) analysts or industry specialist in commodity or infrastructure sectors)
  • Strong understanding of fixed income instruments and portfolio construction process;
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning ability;
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment;
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Keen interest in global and emerging market trends (e.g. politics);
  • Ability to speak Mandarin is important as you may need to cover China portfolios
  • Comfortable with technology and able to integrate new developments into work processes;
  • Candidates with lower experience level with strong interests to develop career as fixed income portfolio manager could be considered as investment analyst.
