The Role Responsibilities & Our Ideal Candidate


Operations and Risk Management
- Provide directive/guidance on branch operations/compliance issues/procedures
- Assist branches in the preparation/rectification of audit review
- Lead/assist in conducting ad hoc investigation and support Financial Crime Risk on any fraudulent case investigation
- Provide risk/operation training to branch staff on a regular basis
- Assist in handling customer complaints which involve fraud / operation element
- Liaise with other Business Units/support units on policy issues relating to branch operations

Risk Representative
- Assist and drive the implementation of all risk and compliance related policies and procedures (Local and Group) within the Business
- Proactively identify the top operational risks with the Business Unit and ensure mitigation action is being formulated
- Report any incident and/or outstanding in the area of Zero Tolerance Issues, Audit Findings, Unusual trends and Mis-selling cases to BORM of the Business
- Proactively share any incidents or potential risks that may impact or apply to other Business Units or Support Units with other members of the RB Operational Risk Group. In addition, to take mitigation actions if incidents or potential risks shared by others are applicable to the Risk Rep.'s own Business Unit or Support Unit
- Co-ordinate the establishment and ensure self-assessment is being conducted within own unit on risk toolkits such as Key Control Standards, Key Risk Indicators, Compliance Monitoring, etc
- Ensure all risk and compliance controls, such as KCS, are up-to-date by co-ordinating the revision and/or revise the controls. Where applicable, co-ordinate and ensure the development and/or complete new controls where appropriate
- Cascade all risk/compliance related information to all relevant staff with the Business Unit
- Act as the trainer on money laundering prevention training and other operational risk related training
- Conduct checks on controls, risks and compliance toolkits to ensure controls developed are adequate, as well as comprehensive monitoring and self assessment being performed with the Business Unit
- Where necessary, assist in the processing and investigation of suspicious transaction/compliance breach reports originating from unit staff
- Ensure risk reports/checklists are accurate and submitted on a timely basis

Outserve Initiatives
- Work closely with branches to enhance Customer Experience, to solve customer complaints, and to support the launch of SCB way

Special Assignments
- Deliver projects on a need basis

Business Building
- Maximize team synergy in daily operation and explore business opportunities through team work with colleagues from other Value streams

Channel Management
- Assist Manager, Branch Operations to maximize efficiency and productivity through channel leveraging
