We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join the HSBC GBM COO team, which is responsible for capability delivered through business design & architecture, along with transformation solutions and change delivery. As a successful candidate, you will contribute to the design and development of architectures that are aligned with Group standards, corporate & business strategy, meet business objectives and satisfy all relevant regulatory and operational risk controls.

 We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join the HSBC GBM COO team, which is responsible for capability delivered through business design & architecture, along with transformation solutions and change delivery. As a successful candidate, you will contribute to the design and development of architectures that are aligned with Group standards, corporate & business strategy, meet business objectives and satisfy all relevant regulatory and operational risk controls.

Key deliverables:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of global Design & Architecture strategy and standards;
  • Target operating model development
  • Work with technology and data architects within the business to ensure solutions are deployable and effective;
  • Ensure that process modelling, tools and the accepted best practice techniques and standards provided by HSBC are utilised;
  • Actively promote the benefits of Design & Architecture, accepted best practice techniques, standards and tools to other areas of the Group and external suppliers where necessary;
  • Ensure the highest level of quality for all activities and products within relevant field of influence
  • Introduce new techniques, products, services, technologies and standards where needed, via the appropriate channels and in agreement with the rest of global Design & Architecture;
  • Where appropriate, provide full life cycle business architectural guidance to change and delivery teams and ensure quality deliverables;
  • Stay abreast of transformation trends and advise the business about potential benefits/impacts;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group’s standards of ethical behaviour.

Principal requirements:

  • A significant track record of Design & Architecture, Target Operating Model and strategic delivery.
  • Subject matter expertise across the GBM product classes, capabilities, business domains and technical faculties
  • Ability to priorities work within competing demands, to successfully deliver services to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing technical and business environment
  • Logical and practical – ability to see the wood through the trees and act on it
  • Strong relationship management capability – managing multiple personas across multiple businesses across multiple regions
  • A track record of providing architectural guidance and input to complex programmes and projects
  • A broad knowledge of transformation techniques, IT hardware, software, operations and networks.
  • Ability to synthesize through excellent written and oral communications skills
