Job Title: Network Infrastructure Engineer / Asset Management Firm
Location: Central, Hong Kong
Key Responsibilities:
Core Network Operations (Mission-Critical)
- Manage and maintain the company’s primary data center and branch network environments.
- Ensure the stable operation of core switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
Incident Response & Continuous Improvement
- Lead deep-dive troubleshooting for complex network incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
- Produce incident reports and drive architecture/network optimizations based on findings.
Daily Maintenance & Drills
- Create and execute standardized inspection procedures for data center assets, including servers, storage, precision air-conditioning, UPS systems, and fire suppression systems.
- Lead quarterly disaster recovery (DR) failover tests and emergency response drills.
Project Delivery
- Own planning, supervision, and acceptance for new data center builds, network expansion, equipment installation/commissioning, and structured cabling system work.
Security & Compliance
- Implement network security policies (VPN, VLAN segmentation, ACL-based access control).
- Coordinate with internal/external security audits and support ISO/graded compliance and equalization testing.
Team Collaboration & SOPs
- Improve incident handling playbooks and maintain a knowledge base.
- Develop and standardize operational procedures (SOPs).
Requirements:
Experience
- 8–10+ years of hands-on experience operating mission-critical data centers and enterprise networks.
Network Expertise
- Strong knowledge of Huawei / H3C / Cisco switching and routing; HCIE/CCIE/H3CIE or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proficient with OSPF, BGP, VLAN, STP, and link aggregation; able to independently design network architectures and troubleshoot end-to-end.
- Hands-on packet analysis using Wireshark and tcpdump.
Systems & Hardware
- Familiar with server hardware fault diagnosis (e.g., RAID disk issues, memory errors).
- Knowledge of virtualization networking configuration (VMware vSphere, KVM).
- Basic understanding of data center infrastructure (precision cooling, UPS, power distribution) and ability to coordinate with facilities teams for environmental monitoring.
Monitoring & Tools
- Proficient in deploying and operating monitoring platforms, with experience in alert tuning/optimization.
Documentation & Communication
- Ability to produce clear network topology diagrams (Visio/draw.io), change implementation plans, and emergency playbooks.
- Strong cross-department coordination skills.
- Native level Mandarin is a must
Pressure Handling
- Experience leading on-site recovery for major incidents (e.g., backbone outage, full data center power loss) is a plus.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing hybrid cloud connectivity (AWS/Azure/Alibaba Cloud direct connections).
- Familiarity with SD-WAN deployments.
- Experience with automated operations (Ansible and/or Python scripting).
- Participation in Tier 3+ data center build-outs or relocations.
- ITIL and PMP certifications are a plus.
