Manager/ Senior Manager, Process Transformation

• This role focuses on Project Halley, the Group-wide project for the implementation of IFRS 17
• Support the IFRS 17 Implementation & Analytics team in the design, development and implementation of the IFRS17 subledger account positing across different business units of the Group
• Support data management and solution implementation

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with business owner to update of accounting posting framework, chart of account, reporting and disclosure requirement, consolidation and other accounting and reporting requirement for any change on technical requirement and accounting position;
  • Update of sub-ledger accounting module (SLAM) and pre-SLAM including system configuration, mapping tables, actual and projected cash flow, offset accounting based on updated posting framework;
  • Update of business requirement documents (BRD) in relation to accounting position and reporting;
  • Review of business blueprint and functional design specification in relation to SLAM and pre-SLAM and provide comments to ensure design is effective, easy to maintain and user friendly;
  • Perform and review of system testing including testing approach & scope, test cases and test results;
  • Work with other solution engine owners to ensure alignment between upstream and downstream systems;
  • Liaise with business owner and system developer
  • Gather input data requirements and coordinate with local business and IT to capture data into Group system
  • Assist in design and implement data governance frameworks for effective management of data acquisition and data repositories
  • Gather, analyze, and assess requirements and evaluate impacts to architecture and solution design, actuarial or accounting process, and business decision support
  • Translate business requirements into formal documentation and specifications

Job Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems

  • 6 years+ experience in the life insurance industry with strong business sense
  • 6 years+ experience in a business analysis or data analyst or related responsibility
  • 6 years+ experience in financial reporting is preferred
  • Implementing business logic for decision support, finance applications or data management tools
  • Insurance system implementation experience is a plus with focus on engineering dataflows and data modelling

Professional Qualifications
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent is preferred

  • Insurance industry and/or audit background strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in IFRS 17 is a strong plus
  • Proficient in accounting system or related system
  • Fast learner and be able to quickly get up-to-speed with IFRS 17 GL posting process
  • Knowledge in data governance and data extraction/transformation tool is essential
  • Self-motivated and be passionate about participating in Group-wide changes
  • Strong analytical skills and be able to clearly present results systematically and logically
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
