We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Manager Risk Education, Communications and FCR MI.

Principal responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders across Insurance, Lines of Business and Functions at global, regional and country levels to translate Group Financial Crime and Regulatory Risk strategy into effective global execution and implementation plans, assessing impacts for the Insurance business across Group and local as appropriate
  • Ensure effective governance structures are in place to enable oversight, control and monitoring of strategy execution and implementation plans
  • Engage with stakeholders locally to identify themes and emerging issues for Financial Crime Compliance and Regulatory Compliance across Global Insurance
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to drive improvements in Insurance capability to maintain oversight of Financial Crime and Regulatory risk controls performed within or outside of Insurance but on behalf of the Insurance business
  • Maintain an Insurance specific Training and Communications calendar covering all staff roles across Group and Country level, in line with Retail Banking Wealth Management. Monitor risk management culture and flag areas requiring attention and mitigation. Work closely with Retail Banking Wealth Management Head of Risk Education and Communications to leverage on the Training and Commas material available
  • Proactively identify any insurance specific training need and lead action plans to address them. Ensure all Group driven Job Based Curriculum or Mandatory Learning covers all Insurance staff roles
  • Ensure that Insurance staff are aware and have access to facilities including systems, tools, training material and escalation procedures which will help them to perform their responsibilities on a day to day basis and when they are unsure about how to manage a situation
  • Ensure that Insurance staff are motivated to manage financial crime and regulatory risk and understand Performance or Consequence Management. Ensure that objectives specific to Financial Crime and Regulatory Risk are embedded within the scorecards for all job roles with positive and negative recognition of individual behaviours linked to FCRM
  • Arrange for regular team discussions regarding financial crime and regulatory risk topics both at country and group level and manage communications including tone from the top. Manage peer recognition within Insurance for individual contributions to FCRM through existing platforms like at Our Best Recognition

  • ​University Degree Holder in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, Technology or related field
  • Certifications and relevant experience in Financial Crime Risk Management, preferred but not essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently across cultures and at all levels of the organisation
  • Significant Financial Crime and or Regulatory Compliance experience within Banking or Insurance settings
  • Proven ability to analyse situations and solve operational problems
  • Experience of working in a complex financial services organisation.
  • Demonstrable strong insurance business knowledge
  • Able to plan, track and control operational activities
  • Knowledge of the external environment, regulatory, political, competitors.
  • Drive and motivation to ensure delivery in a challenging environment
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Track record of positive interactions with Senior Executives across the business
  • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely in the language of the business
  • Relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills
