We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Manager, Insurance Investment Accounting and Reporting.

Principal responsibilities

  • Manage flexible working teams of both on and off shore resources up to 8 Full Time Equivalent staff
  • Act as the gate keeper of financial information on financial systems including Investment Accounting system
  • Ensuring robust underlying information used for financial, statutory and regulatory reporting in relation to Investment related activities, including ensuring adherence to the requirements under IFRS9
  • Own all data on the Investment Accounting System PAM and insurance ledger systems and be responsible for substantiation and reconciliation
  • Ensure month end, quarter end and year end processes in relation to Investments are completed within the tight deadlines defined by HSBC Corporate
  • Ensure timely review for Investment related reconciliations performed by the offshore team
  • Protect HSBC from reputational, financial, accounting and regulatory risks arising from the financial information related to investments included in the accounting ledgers
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders such as bank, reporting team and investment team for data information relating to his or her area
  • Ensure existence of effective controls in relation to his or her area
  • The role holder is also responsible for assisting in investment projects such as the roll out of new investment products


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Professional accounting qualification
  • Proven record in managing in an international environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of major technical components of the insurance investment accounting and their dynamics
  • Proven leadership ability and team working skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders both internal and external and conflicting priorities
  • Strong sense of risk management and controls
  • Strong change management skills
  • A mindset of continuous improvement and aiming for excellence
