Job Description

* Implement a sustainable regional collections and recovery operations and governance to deliver on operational and loss performance, productively, outstanding rationalization and controls.
* Enhance collections and recovery capability and drive optimization and standardization of the Regional Collection Hub where applicable.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Strategy and Policy
  • Formulate, maintain and execute collection strategies, policies and procedure.
  • To ensure effective portfolio monitoring mechanisms are in place, including early warning mechanisms and contingency plans
  • To have an adequate and relevant collection strategy commensurate with the size and risk of the portfolio.
  • Develop and execute new initiatives to achieve collections and recovery target setting, LI budgeting and forecasting
  • To manage an acceptable level of credit loss and to maximize economic profits for the Business through good growths.
  • To support the reduction of credit operation costs through improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of credit operation processes/ strategies.

Processes, Operations and Governance
  • Ensure compliance of regulatory requirement and internal policies for all collection activities.
  • Implement the ORF as planned and on a timely basis, and proactively and rigorously evaluate ORF controls whenever there are changes in high risk processes. Continuously improve collection processes to enhance to reduce operational risks.
  • To ensure good control mechanisms are in place and to ensure satisfactory audit clearance.
  • To identify and execute workflow re-engineering processes.
  • Ensure that routines and training that reinforce compliance and adherence to key corporate, legal and regulatory initiatives.
  • Socialize issues arising out of audits / control testing to ensure that learning are disseminated
Tools and Technology
  • Champion continuous process improvements, up skill collection techniques, upgrade collection tools and optimize collections systems
  • Making optimal use of all collection tools and using analytical and data segmentation to enhance collection efficiency.
People and Skills
  • To increase intellectual capital and ensure highest quality of people in Collection, though effective training and coaching.
  • To reward excellence and ensure alignment in rewards and performance.
  • To create an environment that is conducive to career growth and development, and to ensure staff satisfaction and strengthen retention factors for performing staffs.
  • To build bench-strengths and ensure succession plans are in place.

Qualifications and Skills

  • University degree or above, major in Statistics or Finance related subject.
  • Relevant working experience in banking (e.g. Collection, Operational Risk, Governance areas).
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good speaking in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
