Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager Client Services.

Principal Responsibilities

Impact on the Business

  • Handle ad-hoc client enquiries for existing and prospective clients, especially Korean clients
  • Close cooperation with Client Managers/ Institutional Sales, as required in the completion of client (prospects and/or existing) related requests and enquiries (tailoring of presentations, client, market, sector analysis, DDQ/RFI/RFP)
  • Assist and support the team to ensure the successful launch of new product offerings / capabilities, as appropriate based on coverage, including in Korea
  • Assist in the preparation and development of ad hoc reports, working with Marketing, Product teams and Investment teams to develop ad-hoc reports and ensure delivery to appropriate clients
  • Assist in the effective and smooth on-boarding process for new clients 
  • Customise client reports/presentations, translate market commentaries and devise report templates where required
  • Assist in preparing meeting follow-up notes
  • Assist in information gathering of client/prospect details and competitor landscape
  • Support deal opportunities in the region
  • Communicate fund and market information to external clients e.g. distribute corporate actions and upload market commentary
  • Ensure that all client correspondence is properly organized and contain all files and stored in logical and time order, as well as are in compliance with all applicable audit requirements

  • Stakeholders: Institutional sales, Client Managers, Wider CS team, RFP team, Marketing, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance

Leadership & Teamwork

  • The colleague is a part of the Client Service team and is based in HK but may support resources in the APAC region
  • The role holder will need to have the ability to understand investment, product, client propositions and business development initiatives
  • The role holder will need to be highly organised and have good communications skills, both spoken and written
  • Strong technical, organisational and project management skills are also required in order to manage a broad client base, diverse business lines with differing needs and deadlines
  • Provide assistance and input into developing sales and client opportunities
  • Participate in departmental projects
  • Ensure regular dialogue with colleagues to ensure consistent usage of resources and systems
  • Assist in raising the profile of HSBC Asset Management products internally through marketing communications

    Requirements

    • Korean language skills required
    • Good interpersonal skills, both spoken and written
    • Strong analytical and technical skills
    • Past experience in client support role within an asset management business
    • Ability to/or has some understanding/awareness of investment products/capabilities
    • Strong interest in financial markets
    • Clear evidence/understanding of industry/market or client requirements
    • Evidence of ability to prioritize tasks when faced with competing priorities 
    • Strong attention to detail and deadlines
    • Baseline investment knowledge and/or 2 years minimum in investment management business/capability based role
    • Flexible, resourceful and ability to multi task
    • IT and business systems knowledge/familiarity (excel, word, Bloomberg, Morningstar etc)
