Our client is an international bank looking to build their footprint in Asia. With a strong culture of risk and control they seek a manager to assist in mitigating risk across corporate, institutional and global market business lines. As the first line of defence, you should have a good controls mindset and have a strong understanding of banking products.

The successful candidate should possess a strong level of experience in an Operational Risk function within the Financial Services domain. They should possess and be able to demonstrate a good level of understanding around the latest regulatory standards for operational and enterprise risk as they will be responsible for promoting and ensuring that our approach is consistent with Group Risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work towards the success of the 1st line Operational Risk team, focused on client relationships and the enhancement of operations team processes
  • Develop and maintain the company's operational risk incident management process.
  • Work with internal audit, compliance and legal teams to facilitate delivery of the institution's Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk frameworks
  • Assist in the production of regular management information to inform senior management on operational risk and control framework
  • Develop and implement Risk and Control Self-Assessment process to identify and assess key risks and level of internal controls
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across the business, to ensure the business supports the promotion of an effective risk management culture
  • Remain abreast of best practice thinking within operational risk from a market and regulatory standpoint
  • Provide support and training on risk obligations as necessary


  • University graduate in accounting, business or finance
  • At least 4 years of risk management from a corporate and or investment banking environment
  • Will consider candidates with internal audit and/or compliance background with in depth knowledge of banking environment and products
  • Able to work across different functions and able to build strong relationships
  • Possess a strong control mindset and good understanding of what is best practice
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
  • Detailed oriented and strong analytical and problem solving skills required
  • Excellent communications, English and Chinese written and spoken preferred
