To support the trading desk through order handling and management. This includes working as a conduit between the trading team and other pre and post trade functions throughout the organisation. The order management team is also responsible for working with the trading desk, derivative team and brokers on securities borrowing, lending and prime brokerage management. In addition, liaising with various internal and external stakeholders in the documentation and processing of Capital Markets related workflow is a key aspect of the role.

Department Description

Fidelity has trading desks operating across the globe to facilitate the trading needs of the various Investment Teams (Equities, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset) covering cash and derivative products in Equity, Fixed Income and FX. Teams are located in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Shanghai, London, Dublin and (via the joint venture FCAM) Toronto.

The Trading team in Hong Kong manages the execution and liquidity requirements for all FIL and FCAM funds as it relates to the APAC markets. Traders actively engage with the investment team in order to deliver the best execution. Order management supports the Trading team and the organisation with the mitigation of risk associated with the execution process as well as supporting derivative processing, securities lending and prime brokerage.

Purpose of your role

To support the trading desk through order handling and management. This includes working as a conduit between the trading team and other pre and post trade functions throughout the organisation. The order management team is also responsible for working with the trading desk, derivative team and brokers on securities borrowing, lending and prime brokerage management. In addition, liaising with various internal and external stakeholders in the documentation and processing of Capital Markets related workflow is a key aspect of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the equity trading team to manage operational risks
  • Work closely with the PSG, Capital Markets and Investment Compliance teams to ensure that orders on the APAC Trading desks are managed in a timely and efficient manner - this includes order shaping, limit changes and assistance with market specific requirements such a pre-funding and fund ID management
  • Assume responsibility for all orders within the Order Management blotter including RTB issues, compliance halts and Capital Markets trades
  • Support the management of the stale order process
  • Work closely with TMS on post trading and settlement queries
  • Work with street counterparts to manage stock borrow (and lending where possible) to ensure best rates are achieved
  • Work with the securities lending team, TMS and BBH to oversee the securities lending program
  • Work closely with the GTAM and Technology teams
  • Work collaboratively with all team members to facilitate their service to the broader Investment Management team
  • Protect where possible and enhance Fidelity's reputation in the marketplace
  • Work such hours as required for coverage of assigned markets and asset classes
  • To be familiar with and adhere to Fidelity Global Trading Policies and Procedures
  • To be familiar with and adhere to Fidelity's best execution & order handling policies
  • To be familiar with and adhere to the provisions of Fidelity's Code of Ethics
  • Be aware of the current Anti-Money Laundering requirements as they affect the business

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Knowledge of and interest in financial markets
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload effectively in a busy environment and to deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication ability both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge and experience with securities lending viewed favourably
  • Experience in project and process management viewed favourably
  • Language: English fluency
