Head of Fixed Income Advisory - APAC
The APAC Capital Markets Head of Fixed Income Advisory is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to grow the cash and structured credit and rates business, executed both directly with our largest and most active trading and investing clients, and indirectly through our IC and banker colleagues. The scope of the client base includes the full Citi Global Wealth spectrum from IPB+ to UHNW.

Managing a team of 7 fixed income advisors, cooperating closely with the Cash & Vanilla Execution team, the Structured Products Execution team and the Capital Markets Sales team, the APAC Capital Markets Head of Fixed Income Advisory is directly responsible for advisory sales, internal channel marketing, content & product development, technology & platform strategy, and broad representation of the Fixed Income asset class in discussions and negotiations with senior management, stakeholders, business partners and support functions.

The APAC Capital Markets Head of Fixed Income Advisory is expected to operate proficiently across multiple critical management roles:

Team Profile and Stakeholder Engagement: Establishment of the Asia FI Advisory service as a distinct activity and team within Capital Markets, including development of the team's profile and active engagement & education of stakeholders to grow and improve the business.

Team Management: Management of Asia FI Advisory team staff, including hiring, training, development, motivation, compensation, promotions, activity monitoring and efficiency/effectiveness enhancement.

Reporting: Regular and consistent reporting to management and stakeholders; maintenance and sharing of quantitative and qualitative metrics illustrating team activities, revenues and success & gaps for use in driving progress.

Sales Management: Client management and monetization as a disciplined sales process: market intelligence, continuous prospecting, categorization, assignment, tracking, assessment and review - and close coordination with all stakeholders throughout the process.

Content Production: Development, promotion and monetization of high-quality asset-class specific content and ideas; including new trade proposals, ongoing monitoring and performance updates and close-out advice.

Communications Enhancement: Rationalization and effectiveness of communications; continuous solicitation of feedback and improvement to increase relevance, engagement and monetization; planning and provision of events and direct client-focused activities.

Product, Platform and Programme Development: Proactive involvement in investment product, systems and product programme development and improvement, in conjunction with the CM Execution teams, the Structured Products team, the CM Sales team and related CPB functions (regionally and globally) including IF, Risk, IPR, Compliance, Legal and Technology.

Cooperation with Peers: Proactive interaction and cooperation with all Capital Markets Team Heads to drive continuous monetization of a coordinated Capital Markets strategy and common investment themes; relationship development and cooperation with global Capital Markets colleagues and Markets/IB colleagues.

  • A minimum of 12 years of fixed income, credit and rates sales, structuring and/or portfolio management experience, gained while working in large multinational institutions.
  • Extensive experience in sales and trading of primary bonds and flow fixed income products. Experience of market commentary and analysis capabilities. Experience of Developed as well as Emerging Markets credit.
  • Strong experience in developing, originating and marketing interest rate and credit derivatives and structured products.
  • A strong understanding of the APAC wealth management industry and active relationships with the region's largest individual fixed-income investors and family offices.
  • Experience managing a small team of sales-oriented staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, with a proven ability to develop strong working relationships across functional and geographical lines.
  • Regional language skills are preferred but not essential.
