This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Compliance Officer to join a leading international law firm and lead the compliance team across Asia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a mid-size regional compliance team in providing AML as well as compliance advisory support to the business and its clients.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders across the region to promote a strong firm-wide compliance culture and to address compliance initiatives. He/she will also identify and assess the compliance risks associated with the business activities especially those related to regulatory and statutory requirements, and report to the Head Office Group Compliance on all local compliance matters and suspicious financial crime activities such as AML/CFT/sanctions.
The ideal candidate will be a degree holder, preferably holding a relevant qualification such as ACAMS and have at least 10 years of related compliance experience gained in a financial services company or a global consulting firm, in particular, in the insurance/trust services sector. He/she must have proven experience in a supervisory role and must have excellent command of written and spoken English with excellent interpersonal and people management skills. Fluent Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) is preferred.
