GBIS is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia, GBIS provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

The Asia Pacific COO (Chief Operating Officer) team supports, develops and supervises the Global Markets activities in their day to day operations as well as strategic development.

As part of a team of 3 persons, the candidate will assist the Chief Operating Officer Regulatory (MARK COO REG) in charge of the regulatory transformation in Asia Pacific in anticipating and assessing the impacts of market regulations to MARK business lines and clients in Asia Pacific. He will support all the aspects of the implementation of the various regulations into SG's Asia Pacific business.


Main Responsibilities

Under the hierarchical responsibility of the MARK COO REG, the candidate will work on the following tasks:

  • Perform a regulatory watch for all market regulations that may impact SG businesses in ASIA PACIFIC, for both local regulations (countries where SG is implemented or has business) and cross-border regulations (DFA, EMIR, MIFID2, Volcker, French Banking law)
  • Assist the COO on a day-to-day basis for all internal and client queries and communication related to regulations implementation projects
  • Assist the COO in computing business impact studies as well as presentation to business and internal stakeholders: production of a monthly project dashboard, project forecast
  • She / he will have to be comfortable in analyzing complex data's on spreadsheet, pivot tables
  • She / he will have to be proficient in Excel / PowerPoint
  • Ad-hoc support on prioritized initiatives required by COO team such as:
- She / he may have to help investigating and understanding certain anomalies flagged by spreadsheet. Therefore, a previous experience in finance will be well regarded

- Help on organizing meetings & write their minutes

  • Participate to reduce administrative workload


Higher Education

  • Master Degree or above

Option / Specialization

  • A previous significant working experience of at least two years in the market regulatory environment as a chief operating offer or a compliance officer

Job Skills

  • Familiar with products traded (Equity derivatives: swaps, futures, options)
  • Interest in financial markets and regulatory changes. Must have knowledge of basics in quantitative finance such as Black-Scholes pricing theory
  • Must be familiar with products traded (equity derivatives: swaps, futures, options
  • Very good communication and organizational skills
  • Rigor, motivation and reliability

IT Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Familiar with extracted data's management


  • Fluency in English language
  • Knowledge on French will be useful and preferred.
