Position Overview

You'll be a Senior Engineer in the Equity Trading Technology team, based in the Hong Kong office. You'll have excellent technical development, analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills.

You will be joining the Global Equity Analytics team, designing, developing and maintaining real time analytics products. Your role is to lead the development efforts against the backbone of our next generation Analytics Data Mart (ADM). This is a real time KDB+ Analytics platform servicing analytical content to the Equities trading desks as well as clients of Deutsche Bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business partners in Hong Kong in developing architectural solutions to new business problems
  • Work with business analysts to produce functional requirements documents to define the project development scope
  • Develop analytics using niche Q/Kdb programming language
  • Work with QA team members to test said development items
  • Providing Level 3 Support of the Analytics Platform
  • Work with the business to help understand output from the analytical platform
  • Work with peers in Analytics team to integrate analytics to GUI platform
  • Work with peers in wider IT organization to onboard new datasets for Analytical purposes.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Core KDB+ / Q programming experience – at least 6 years of experience
  • Solid understanding of equity products and trading flow – at least 5 years of experience
  • Experience developing real-time front office applications
  • UNIX Script / LINUX experience – at least 6 years of experience
  • Solid SDLC Best Practices – including agile approaches, GIT, Team City, Jenkins
  • Comfortable working closely with the business and have the ability to quickly understand their requirements
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working in a global organization
  • Oracle Database / SQL (at least 4 year experience)
  • Being able to deliver quality and innovative solutions under tight deadlines
