Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Financial Crime Compliance Risk Anlytics Manager.

In this role, you will

  • Contribute to ensure regional and local Financial Crime Compliance's expectations towards Global Risk Analytics are met
  • Support the establishment of the appropriate regional governance required for the  management of Financial Crime Compliance models and supporting the Global Risk Analytics Operating Model and help represent the region interest in Global Risk Analytics forums
  • Coordinate between regional stakeholders and the Global Risk Analytics teams to support and facilitate the execution of BAU initiatives and the resolution of model related issues
  • Educate regional business and risk leaders on regulatory and risk management as it relates to Financial Crime Compliance models and analytics and ensure impacts of risks and issues are documented, communicated and understood
  • Help represent Global Risk Analytics in the regional Financial Crime Compliance governance forums and ensure model governance is strictly adhered to for model implemented in the region
  • Build and maintain up to date an inventory of all Financial Crime Compliance related models in the region, ensure their performance is continuously measured and proactively highlight potential issues
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the local and regional regulatory requirements relevant for Financial Crime Compliance model
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the design, development and maintenance of compliance business analytics and models
  • Assure that the model deployed in the region are fit for purpose by, where required, undertaking testing or validation and providing constructive challenge to the Global Risk Analytics teams
  • Deliver analytical work on regional initiatives data quality reviews and enhancement, model calibration, development and implementation of local deviations and specificities when and where needed
  • Maintain relationships with regional stakeholders providing inputs to improve the performance of the models
  • Support improvements to the systems and data infrastructure supporting deployment of the Financial Crime Compliance models
  • Ensure that best practices are being followed by global initiatives and that potential weaknesses in the models are identified and clearly communicated to regional and local stakeholders

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

  • Client focused, with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong communication both verbal and written and presentation skills to all level of stakeholders
  • Sound judgment and problem solving skills, ability to think laterally
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp complex processes and concepts and make decisions and/or comprehensive recommendations across a broad range of subject matter
  • Good understanding of Financial Crime Compliance regulatory landscape and the related risk governance in a large financial institution. Ideally previous experience in a Financial Crime Compliance related function
  • Good coordination and planning skills with the ability to balance short term and long term priorities
  • Working knowledge of Anti Money Laundering Transaction Monitoring systems Norkom, Actimize, Oracle FCCM or Screening systems BAE WLM, Oracle OWS
  • Hands on experience in business analysis and requirement gathering or interpreting regulations
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with the ability to organize and analyse multiple, complex data sets, to draw clear business conclusions and present them clearly to non scientific stakeholders
  • Strong database skills, including working with advanced data sets, advanced database and statistical functions and methods
  • Hands on experience using SAS, SQL, Big Data, Hadoop, Visualization tools Tableau, Qlikview, Spotfire and Excel advanced
  • Hands on experience in model validation, calibration or in advanced business or risk analytics
  • Proven and solid track record in risk management or project management
  • Sound judgment and problem solving skills, ability to think laterally
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflicts in a positive way
