Senior Finance Officer role based in our Hong Kong Branch. This position provides exposure to a wide range of responsibilities includes Group Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, General Accounting and Control, Accounts Payable, Management Information, Tax. You will need to have a degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent. With some hands on accounting experience in a banking environment. An accounting qualification is beneficial. You will be required to have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Key responsibilities within the role will cover:

Group Reporting:
• Responsible to perform accurate and timely reporting

Regulatory Reporting:
• Responsible to perform accurate and timely reporting
• Prepare and check banking returns and other submissions to regulators
• Provide assistance on update of procedures documented for returns preparation and regulatory monitoring regularly and where necessary

General Accounting and Control:
• Responsible to update and maintain general ledger balances properly and accurately, and execute proper controls over the general ledger
• Provide assistance on month end accounts closing
• Prepare various daily reconciliations,  investigate discrepancies and take appropriate actions
• Ensure proper monthly Balance Sheet Substantiation
• Update the Balance Sheet Substantiation procedure manual regularly and where necessary

Accounts Payable:
• Responsible to execute payments timely and accurately for expenses and ensured they are properly approved and relevant policies are observed
• Prepare intercompany recharges and make sure its processing is proper and correct
• Prepare bank reconciliation, and to follow up unpresented cheques or unreconciled items (if any);
• Update procedure manual regularly and where necessary

Management Information:
• Prepare reports for ALCO and EXCO (such as Weekly Liquidity Ratios, Deposits Analysis etc)

• Provide necessary breakdown and schedules or assistance to Tax Department eg for tax computation or in the case of IRD queries
• Run daily Trial Balances/ledgers

Knowledge, technical skills and expertise:
• Excellent accounting, regulatory, tax and institutional knowledge
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
