Our client, a well-established participant in the financial markets sector, is seeking an experienced QA Analyst to join its Front Office Technology team in Hong Kong. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with regional technology and business stakeholders supporting a sophisticated electronic trading platform focused on Asian equity markets.
Key Responsibilities
As part of a dedicated Quality Assurance function, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of trading systems by:
- Performing end-to-end testing activities across multiple front-office trading applications.
- Executing both functional and non-functional test scenarios for platform enhancements, releases, and production changes.
- Creating, maintaining, and running detailed test plans and test scripts for electronic trading workflows, including DMA and agency trading processes.
- Collaborating with business users, developers, and subject matter experts to clarify requirements and validate expected system behaviour.
- Supporting release planning by providing testing effort estimates and scheduling input.
- Identifying, assessing, and communicating testing risks throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Investigating defects, documenting findings, and coordinating resolution efforts with development teams.
- Contributing to the enhancement of testing standards, frameworks, and quality assurance practices across the organization.
- Promoting continuous improvement initiatives to increase test effectiveness and delivery quality.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Demonstrated experience in software quality assurance within an enterprise or global technology environment.
- Strong understanding of electronic trading systems and the software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience testing low-latency, high-availability trading platforms.
- Knowledge of FIX Protocol and its application within electronic execution workflows.
- Previous exposure to cash equities, electronic trading, order management systems (OMS), or execution management systems (EMS).
- Solid understanding of both functional and non-functional testing techniques.
- Experience applying structured testing methodologies and QA best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset, willingness to learn, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
