My client is a fast-growing hedge fund looking to hire a dynamic operations professional. This role offers exposure to the full trade lifecycle while also providing opportunities to improve processes and drive automation initiatives.
They are ideally looking for someone with strong coding skills or a background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
The Role
- Trade Support & Monitoring: Support daily trading activities across various products, ensuring trades are processed accurately and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Trade Booking & Validation: Review and maintain transaction records, ensuring all trade details are captured correctly and reflected in internal systems.
- Settlement & Lifecycle Management: Coordinate post-trade activities, monitor settlements, and follow through on outstanding items to ensure smooth completion of transactions.
- Reconciliations & Controls: Perform daily reconciliations, investigate breaks or discrepancies, and work closely with relevant teams to achieve timely resolution.
- Corporate Actions & Cash Management: Manage corporate action events, cash movements, funding requirements, and related operational activities throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with brokers, custodians, counterparties, and internal teams to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain efficient operational processes.
- Process Improvement & Documentation: Review existing workflows, document procedures, and identify opportunities to enhance controls and operational efficiency.
- Automation & Technology Initiatives: Contribute to automation projects by leveraging coding and analytical skills to streamline manual processes and improve scalability across the operations function.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 1-5 years of experience gained in operations, trade support, business analysis, technology support, or a similar environment.
- Strong interest in financial markets, operations, and process improvement.
- Good understanding of trade lifecycle and operational workflows would be advantageous.
- Programming experience in Python, SQL, VBA, or other scripting languages is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to investigate issues and propose practical solutions.
- Comfortable working with data and identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
