Job Description

Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced research technology leader to represent the Morgan Stanley Research Asia division. This role, within the Research business unit, reports into the Global Head of Research Technology in North America and a local reporting line in HK. They will be responsible for supporting the analysts and client-facing technology platforms for producing research, multi-channel research distribution, advanced CRM systems, and data analytics. This is not a developer role but a key member to liaise between our research division and our global IT platform. The candidate, with relevant experience, will work closely with Research Analysts, Research Management and the global IT organization to ensure the appropriate regional Research technologies requirements and priorities are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis and project management, and will be responsible for providing end-to-end product management from requirements gathering and analysis through implementation.

Responsibilities include:

- Define regional program vision, goals, and strategy

- Liaise with Research senior management to ensure strategic business objectives are met

- Work with internal IT and external vendors to ensure solutions are delivered successfully

- Regional program management & execution of global technology projects

- Represent regional business requirements to drive global technology initiatives

- Represent regional management on project prioritization & defining the technology strategy

- Identify regional opportunities to leverage existing technology to enable the business strategy

- Be a champion for the research technology platform to drive adoption

- Initiation of technology ideas and experimentation and remain current with technology trends

- Facilitate regional communication on project, issue, and requirements status

- Establish stakeholder relationships with Product Team and Analysts

- Manage external partners and vendor

- Regional research technology related operational management including facilitating User Acceptance Testing, IT Support improvements, Training, Desktop, Mobile and Market Data platform upgrades, Data Security & Entitlements, Business Continuity Planning


Qualifications:


Skills required:

- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Experience leading, steering and influencing teams with indirect reporting lines in a matrix environment

- Ability to manage multiple activities to aggressive deadlines

- Self-starter with can-do attitude, and a strong client focus

- Strong problem-solving capabilities; ability to come up with solutions for complex business problems

- Familiar with technology product lifecycle, from requirements to design, development, deployment, and support

- Experience with marketing and analytics platforms

- Knowledge of Research, Investment Banking or Financial Services



Educational requirements: Bachelors Degree required, MBA/Masters Degree desired
