We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Digital Content Strategist.

In this role you will be a key member of the content team in Retail Banking and Wealth Management division working out of Hong Kong. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to think on their feet and come up with solutions and decisions based around critical and strategic thinking to drive global and regional digital content and digital initiatives. An even temperament with a genuine ability to hear, understand and digest a wide variety of points of view and take decisive action is a desired trait.

From a content experience perspective, we're looking for somebody with an eye for the interesting and compelling. Somebody who has the best interest of the reader, user or customer experience in mind and is able to connect that to business directives and goals. You might be in the media industry and begun your career as a journalist and worked your way through various functions such as User Experience or UX, site migrations, partnerships, growth and social. You definitely are digitally savvy and a forward thinker when it comes to digital.

This is a unique role in that you're able to understand both how a website functions on the backend e.g. site-mapping, UX, content management systems) as well as understand your audience and their needs.

Principal responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the execution of HSBC's digital content goals.
  • Lead strategy sessions with stakeholders and other cross-functional colleagues to outline content objectives, negotiate compromises and achieve consensus.
  • Analyse content at both granular and holistic levels, providing strategic guidance to local projects that align with the global content strategy.
  • Own local sitemaps, IA and taxonomy.
  • Measure content effectiveness with user testing, research and analytics.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations and innovation opportunities.


  • Direct experience creating and publishing content.
  • Experience using workflow and project management tools to manage the completion of deliverables.
  • Direct experience leading multi-disciplinary teams toward successful digital initiative delivery.
  • Experience leveraging data to develop reports and key learnings that drive optimisations.
  • Excellent sense of digital design aesthetics.
  • Exceptional writing and proofing skills.
  • Familiarity with SEO, UX, tagging and other digital disciplines
