Our client is a well-established organisation currently investing heavily in data and AI-driven transformation initiatives. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a Data Platform Manager to lead a team of data professionals responsible for building and enhancing enterprise data platforms, supporting analytics, business intelligence, and future AI capabilities across the organisation.

Your new role

• Lead and manage a team of approx. 6-7 Data Engineers and Data Platform professionals, providing technical guidance, coaching, and career development support.
• Drive the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise data platforms and data architecture capabilities.
• Oversee data engineering initiatives, including data integration, ETL/ELT development, data pipelines, and platform optimisation.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions that support operational and analytical requirements.
• Drive the adoption of modern cloud-based data technologies and platform best practices.
• Lead the development of real-time and near-real-time data processing capabilities using streaming technologies.
• Ensure data quality, governance, reliability, security, and performance standards are maintained across the platform.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and architecture improvements to support future business growth.
• Work closely with architecture, infrastructure, analytics, and application teams to ensure successful platform delivery and integration.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Development, Data Architecture, or related disciplines.
• Proven experience leading small to medium-sized data teams, with direct people management experience.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms and modern data architectures.
• Experience with modern data platform technologies such as Databricks (preferred), Snowflake, or similar enterprise data platforms.
• Experience working with major cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, although AWS or GCP experience will also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, ETL/ELT frameworks, data modelling, and enterprise data integration.
• Experience building real-time or streaming data platforms using technologies such as Kafka or equivalent streaming solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical requirements.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is a must.
• Currently based in Hong Kong and holding a valid Hong Kong work permit.
