The Client Account Management team work with the institutional distribution channel to provide customer support on several levels and stages of Janus Henderson's relationship with the customer.

The Department

The Asia Institutional Business Team is responsible for generating, developing and closing sales opportunities with institutions across the Asia ex Japan Region. 

Overview of the Role

The Client Account Management team work with the institutional distribution channel to provide customer support on several levels and stages of Janus Henderson's relationship with the customer.

  • Provide first-class service to institutional clients and their consultants, meeting individual needs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide intermediary client servicing support assistance, when needed.
  • Manage relationships with clients (internal and external) and investment consultants.
  • Handle queries and performance of account administration.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will:

Client Relationships

  • Manage the relationships with clients, internal and external, in agreement with the Client Director and the client team.
  • Provide ultimate ownership for resolution of all non-investment related client queries.
  • Act as liaison point between the client and transition team for all client transitions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that any changes to the mandate are communicated to the legal department and reflected in IMAs / letters of amendment.
  • Use technical knowledge and experience to ensure the administration of the client’s funds runs smoothly. These include transitions, accounting queries, settlement queries, custody, cash movements, tax matters and etc.
  • Understand the SLA between Janus Henderson and third parties.
  • Update and maintain the CRM System with client contact, activity and funds flow, ensuring all client and fund information are up to date and all work activity is tracked, in line with Department procedure.
  • Proactively anticipate clients’ requirements by maintaining regular contact. Respond to client queries and requests promptly and efficiently, involving third party. administrators, transfer agents, custodians and internal departments.
  • Coordinate and provide initial review to RFP, RFI etc. as required.
  • Ensure that monthly and quarterly reporting fulfilments are completed for respective channels.
  • Manage, integrate and customize content from various sources to prepare high quality marketing materials (English/Chinese) appropriately tailored to the client segments.
  • Responsible for the development and timely delivery of prospectuses, semi-annual/annual reports, customized client reports, client notices and internal sales reports.
  • Responsible for working with Compliance team to ensure timely compliance of all client materials.

Other Responsibilities

  • Liaise with relevant departments concerning compliance, regulatory issues, performance measurement, fee and finance related matters.
  • Ensure that portfolio review pitch books are updated on an ad-hoc basis and undertake the quarterly and annual review.
  • Ensure all regulatory AML requirements are updated annually.
  • Lead or assist in projects as requested.
  • Have responsibility for coordinating all client communications regarding changes to products.
  • Maintain and improve investment product and market knowledge.
  • Work with the institutional marketing team to implement marketing initiatives.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is required
  • Securities and Futures Commission Licenses (Type 1 and 4) is required and must be obtained within the first 3 months from the commencement of employment
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in working with Institutional clients with both pooled and segregated assets is preferred
  • Ability to comprehend Janus Henderson’s array of asset class strategies
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time efficiently
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and CRM systems
