We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Chief Operating Officer, HSBC Provident Fund Trustee.

Principal responsibilities​

  • Lead the day to day management and administration of HSBC Provident Fund Trustee, direct trustee oversight operations such as administration, service provider management and member services, formulate and implement policies, and manage adviser relationships with the HPFT Executive on behalf of the Trustee Board.
  • Manage adviser or provider review and selection exercises, adhering to, and refining, established procurement processes.
  • Ensure and monitor external and internal service providers' adherence to contracts, terms of appointment and budgets.
  • Manage the Scheme's relationship with external advisors and providers.
  • Responsible for development, implementation and measurement of oversight processes.
  • Ensure the level of service provided by administrators meets the requirements of the trustee in accordance with the Mission Statement and the agreed key performance indicators.
  • Deliver the quarterly COO report to the Trustee.
  • Manage operational risk as part of the first line of defence.
  • Work with the Head of Compliance ensuring the Trustee complies with all statutory requirements by highlighting any problems and recommending action.


Qualifications
Requirements​
  • Formal pensions or business qualification with legal background.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in the following areas; pension legislation and the regulatory framework governing HK pension schemes, annuities, funding policies, financial reporting and budgetary control, and risk management.
  • Understanding of business tools and techniques, including procurement, outsourcing and contract management.
  • Operational management expertise, coupled with demonstrable pensions experience.
  • Relevant experience in staff management and development.
  • Track record of successful contract negotiation with advisers and providers.
  • Track record of general management at senior executive level.
  • Understanding of systems and processes involved in a MPF Scheme, including management of interfaces with payroll and administration providers.
  • Experience of leading, building and sustaining a team.
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
