Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfills its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Associate Director, Fixed Income.

Principal responsibilities

  • The position plays an integral role in the Asian Rates and FX management function, particularly on India and Indonesia bond portfolios
  • Provide significant inputs in the investment management process of the Pan Asian multi-currency local bond portfolios
  • Assist in formulating and implementation of the Asian Fixed Income rates and fix strategies viz. macro, duration, curve and currency views
  • Depending on respective investment objectives, manage mandates and funds actively vs. benchmark or on a total return basis or employ "buy and hold" strategy
  • Day to day management of the AAA rated AUD Global Liquidity Fund as well as back up support for the USD and HKD money market funds, while adhering to the process laid out
  • Have an understanding of AUD, HKD and USD money markets or similar market experience and the drivers for the same
  • Assist the Regional CIO Liquidity on the weekly Global Liquidity Call in terms of providing dashboard inputs for the funds being managed
  • Help in preparation of client and fund review materials
  • Help Sales and Product Specialist with any inputs needed for new product and business development


Qualifications
Requirements

  • University degree educated in Finance or related discipline
  • Post-graduate qualifications in Finance, Investment, Business Administration or Chartered Financial Analyst preferred
  • Strong experience in investment related roles in local currency markets & money market, mandatory
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of Excel and familiarity with Bloomberg
