One of the world's largest independent privately owned investment banks is seeking an Associate with solid corporate finance experience to join its elite capital markets advisory team.


  • Support senior bankers' marketing initiatives within ECM and DCM by co-ordinating the work of more junior team members and junior resources to deliver a pitch book to specification
  • Manage a simple Capital markets transaction, and assistance with more complex capital markets transactions, by co-ordinating the transaction process both internally and with other advisers, reviewing the selling documentation and defining supporting analysis and arguments for negotiation purposes
  • Co-ordinate and review financial models developed by more junior members of the team
  • Coach and manage juniors in the team in the above


  • Corporate finance experience (e.g. M&A and/or ECM) ideally with exposure to listed companies in HK or overseas. Some ECM / DCM experience is preferred but not essential
  • Teamwork - ability to build effective relationships between individuals, teams, lines of business and across geographical / cultural boundaries
  • Communication - ability to communicate clearly, persuade and influence; good listening skills
  • Ability to recognise fee-generating opportunities as well as be proactive, persevere, overcome setbacks and deliver results
  • Understanding of the fundamental principles and the application of appropriate corporate finance / CM techniques. Enthusiasm for developing these skills and applying these skills creatively
  • Ability to build long term, professional client relationships that add value to the client and lead to the expansion of the business
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Strong academic track record
  • Mandarin speaking
