Associate - Credit Risk Assistant Manager - Clearing Risk Management) (12-month contract)

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor, assess and report the counterparty risk of HKEX as clearinghouses, in accordance with approved policies and procedures, develop due diligence framework.
• Assist in daily BAU risk monitoring process and prepare reports to management and regulators.
• Contribute to counterparty admission process and assessment of new counterparty suitability.
• Assess and investigate existing counterparties - develop and manage effective watchlist of high risk counterparties. Evaluate market news, SFC liaison, investigate high risk counterparties or risk events and assist in onsite and annual attestation programme.
• Contribute to the improvement of the risk monitoring systems effectiveness and maintain an efficient reporting system and mechanism under both business as usual and contingency situations.
• Communicate effectively on risk management to both internal and external stakeholders through either ad hoc or structured channels.

Job Requirements:

• University degree or equivalent preferred; preferably in Accounting / Risk Management / Finance / Economics or a related subject.
• Holder of relevant professional qualification, preferably CPA, FRM, CFA, MS in Accounting / Finance.
• 3-5 years' relevant experience in credit risk, counterparty risk functions at a Bank, Brokerage, Insurance, Police, Government or Regulatory in Hong Kong or Asia.
• Knowledge of and experience with regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO), including its subsidiary legislation & FRR.
• Excellent knowledge of securities and/or derivatives brokerage business. Experience in the Mainland China securities and derivatives markets is an advantage.
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Programming language skill on VBA and/or Python coding is an advantage.
