Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfills its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Manager, Operations Management .

Principal responsibilities

  • Delivering a standardized Service Provider, monitoring model, hence Business Support can govern the service providers with a unified standards or tools with the most effective resources
  • Delivering key Asset Management Global project to Business Support
  • Monitoring the NAV reconciliation between Asset Management Hong Kong and the valuation agent
  • Serving as the broker on boarding coordinator to Asset Management Hong Kong Investment teams
  • Timely and accurate Management information to Senior Management
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert in operation support
  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring that Operational risks are managed in accordance with the Group Standards Manual, Risk FIM, and relevant guidelines and standards.
  • Continuously reassessing risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • Ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring, addressing areas of concern in conjunction with Risk and relevant line colleagues, and also by ensuring that actions resulting from points raised by internal or external audits, and external regulators, are correctly implemented in a timely fashion

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field.
  • Prior experience in asset management middle or back office operations is an advantage
  • Extensive experience in an assistant manager or similar role
  • Knowledge of market regulations and operations in asset management, custodian and trustee
  • Well organised and ability to prioritise effectively
  • Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure
  • Proactive working attitude and Stakeholders Management skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English with good communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft skills
