The Role Responsibilities

a) The execution of strategies and policies as laid down by senior management including centralization of various loan operational functions, streamlining of processing procedures, migration of job activities to GBS China in cost-effective ways.

b) Evaluation, customization, testing and implementation of system enhancements while strengthening risk control, improving service quality, reducing operational cost and enhancing productivity.

c) On going review and modification of operational procedures and standards to cater for both system environment and market changes in order that the highest efficiency of system features and staff resources are employed.

d) Reporting any system issues and problems to PSS team for quick resolution and coordinate with all affected business units and branch network on emergency action and contingency plan resulted from these issues and problems.

e) Giving advice and consultation in relation to operational matters to various value centres, business units, sales channels and branches.

f) Acting as central support for operations and processing work and as coordinator among various functions / channels for related initiatives.

g) Ensuring effective operational support and service standards are always in place for all
business promotion and marketing campaigns.

h) Defining clear roles and responsibilities for all subordinates and provide them with proper guidance.

i) Keeping good control of all kinds of expenses and exercise prudent management of cost and resources saving within the department.

j) Promoting good leadership image among all staff in Card On-Boarding and to stimulate staff morale and commitments to their jobs.

k) Acting as coordinator for Business Continuity Plan and to ensure sufficient back-up procedures and resources are always in place, both for Card Operation in Hong Kong and operations support in GSB China

l) Complying with all applicable money laundering prevention procedures, CDD checking and, in particular, report any suspicious activities to Unit Money Laundering Prevention Officer, Operations Risk Representative, and line manager.

m) Adhering to all policies and guidelines as laid down in Group Operational Risk - Policy and Procedures Manual. Special attention to be paid to Key Risk Indicators and Key Control Self Assessment reporting.

n) Monitoring the implementation and reporting of Compliance Risk Management (CRM) in Card On-Boarding.

o) Effective control on credit data enquiries and data submissions to credit bureau within Operations areas.

p) To report Unit's OR issues and losses to UORM. To assist UORM in developing and updating of procedures, controls and monitoring plans for Operational Risk Management.

q) Act as OR Coordinator for the section.

r) To adhere to the agreed KCSA plans and approach.

s) To identify and report all exceptions on non compliance with standard controls.

t) To identify and report all weaknesses inherent in the standard controls.

u) To maintain proper record keeping on all KCSA related activities.

v) To maintain independence in the conduct of KCSA, i.e. not selecting and reviewing sample of self-performed transactions.

- Strong experience working in banking operations
