  • Provide leadership and direction to the team to ensure it will contribute to the company achieving its goals;
  • Day-to-day management of the team staff and budget, developing their skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the organization, as well as building on existing recruiting capabilities to address new needs and skills gaps;
  • Overseeing support activities including incident & problem management, troubleshoot and timely resolution for front-to-back office systems;
  • Overseeing the team’s successful delivery of the business objectives in partnership with infrastructure and operations to ensure the applications perform well and stable operation;
  • Manage application change requests, releases, deployment and rollout activities in production to meet business requirement and comply with the group control policy;
  • Implement and manage front-to-back application life cycle management status reporting, metrics and benchmarks to review volumes, drivers and projected growth;
  • Develop productive relationships with business across the organization to influence how applications can be delivered to achieve targeted efficiency;
  • Define and enhance methodologies and practices for the application life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement;
  • Overseeing the assessment of the technical and business fitness of the front-to-back applications portfolio and their associated costs and risks;
  • Working with Business and the application governance committee to define business objectives and application work to accomplish those objectives within budget;
  • Overseeing development of processes and tools in conjunction with IT infrastructure and operations to automate the handoff from development to production;
  • Manage relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of the organization


  • An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, engineering, finance, business management or a related field
  • Leadership in managing a team of application development, support and implementation
  • At least 10 years of work experience in supporting front-to-back office  application development, application architecture, project management, software integration and testing, data management/governance, business intelligence, security and business process analysis
  • Knowledge of ITIL and programming experience using Unix and Windows shell script, PL/SQL, JSP, JAVA, MS.NET, Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase etc
  • Knowledge of Reuters Eikon, , Bloomberg, ETnet, GL Trade, UL Bridge, Sophis, GigaSpace, FinIQ, Temenos T24, Business Objects, Crystal Report, Microstrategy,  Informatica, Control-M, Splunk, Dimensions CM, NOVA, FlexAccount, IT2, SAS
  • Engagement with HKMA, SFC, Exchange connectivity, SWIFT, DCASS, CCASS
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management
