The successful candidate will support the Head of Internal Communications in the region in all deliverables stated above and in facilitating new internal communication initiatives. He/she will also work closely with the global team to facilitate cross-regional campaigns and leverage efforts.

Corporate Communications’ purpose is to protect and build Nomura’s brand and reputation – in support of Nomura’s vision to become a leading, client-driven, global financial services firm. It is the central function that coordinates all internal and external communications activities in the company. The team in Asia ex-Japan is made of four functions working closely with the executive team and businesses: External Communications, Internal Communications, Branding & Marketing/Corporate Events, and CSR.
Nomura is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the firm’s Corporate Communications team in Asia ex-Japan to focus on Internal Communications.
An integral part of the Corporate Communications team, Internal Communications promotes employee understanding of the firm’s strategy, capabilities and business momentum while reinforcing Nomura’s culture and brand.
Internal Communications uses a variety of channels to communicate information throughout the firm:
•All employee announcements
•Intranet (internal information portal)
•Town hall meetings
•Screensavers, posters and desk drops
•Videos and webcasts
The team works very closely with all business and corporate divisions, providing guidance and support on messaging and effective communication within teams and across the firm. Global collaboration with counterparts in other regions is also essential in supporting the globalization and growth of our business.
This successful candidate will support the Head of Internal Communications in the region in all deliverables stated above and in facilitating new internal communication initiatives. He/she will also work closely with the global team to facilitate cross-regional campaigns and leverage efforts.
Role Description / Areas of responsibility
•Actively communicate with business lines, corporate divisions, global Internal Communications team and members of the AEJ Corporate Communications team to identify and generate story ideas or examples that embed the brand for the intranet.
•Draft/review/disseminate a variety of all-employee communications, including internal announcements, intranet articles, employee e-newsletters and other internal materials.
•Update corporate materials on the intranet; support the Head of Internal Communications to enhance usability and functionality of the intranet.
•Assist with internal events such as town hall meetings, speaker series and employee networking events.
•Assist with taking pictures at internal events for use in internal channels.
•Assist with the production of internal video messages from content development/scripting to scheduling and video recording.
•Prepare monthly Internal Communications metrics and campaign-driven measurement reports.
Key Experience & Skills
•Knowledge of the financial services industry preferred.
•Appreciation of the key drivers of internal communications and employee engagement.
•Excellent communication and writing/proofreading/copy editing skills (native-level English or equivalent).
•Knowledge of an Asian language, particularly Chinese Mandarin, is beneficial, but not essential
•Knowledge of basic photography and videography skills is beneficial.
•Strong team player.
•Self-starter and proactive.
•Tenacious spirit that works well under pressure.
•University graduate, ideally in a communications or marketing-related field.
•3+ years of experience in Corporate Communications, preferable in a corporate environment and financial services. Candidates with experience in the financial services industry but not directly in Corporate Communications will also be considered.
•Have a good sense of humor.
Candidate with more experience will be considered as an Associate.
