APAC Legal Business Management – Associate

The Asia Pacific Legal Business Management Associate will be responsible for managing specific initiatives and activities J.P. Morgan's Asia Pacific Legal Department, a group of approximately 250 professionals and support staff located across over 14 jurisdictions in Asia Pacific, working closely with the Asia Pacific Business Manager.

The Business Management Associate will work closely with the Asia Pacific Business Manager and his/her primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing analytical support to the APAC Business Manager, including Quarterly Business Reviews, headcount/expense tracking, budgeting, external legal spend analysis and other reporting metrics required from time to time
  • Preparing for and coordinating materials for management forums (i.e., Town Hall, Offsite, ad-hoc management meetings).
  • Providing support with global projects such as Client Facing Documentation, LEAP, Global Record Retention etc.
  • Engaging in special projects as needed (e.g. Project Fenix, location strategy in Hong Kong, Employee Appreciation Week, Employee Opinion Survey etc.)
  • Partnering with APAC Legal Finance to keep track of cost center changes, expenses, and headcount reconciliation
  • Being an active member of the various committees and forums in APAC Legal (Employee Engagement Committee, Analyst Associate AVP Forum, Paralegal Excellence Committee etc.)
  • Helping drive the EOS/Pulse Survey agenda in terms of participation, analysis of results and action planning
  • Assisting with on-boarding and off-boarding of all Legal staff, contractors and secondees regionally, including job postings
  • Working closely with other members of the Business Management team to review and manage all facilities work and expenditure, including construction and "restacks" throughout the region
  • Coordinating training programs and courses for Legal employees regionally, including encouraging and tracking participation
  • Assisting with ad hoc presentations for the APAC Business Manager/Legal Management Team


  • 4 years+ work experience in financial/banking services
  • Fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin
  • Business management and/or finance or project management experience preferred
  • Thoughtful with analytical skills; able to clearly present and articulate conclusions
  • Interact and communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of the department
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Must have strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Strong time management and ability to coordinate with various teams to action items
  • Strong team player and must have the capability to build good working relationships across working groups /geographical teams.
