The core purposes of the Strategic Events Manager with the Company are: 1. Raise the Brand Awareness & deepen the client experience through flagship conferences and events in Asia Ex Japan 2. Plan multi-channel programs through different business lines, evolve the current siloed event management

The core purposes of the Strategic Events Manager with the Company are:

  1. Raise the Brand Awareness & deepen the client experience through flagship conferences and events in Asia Ex Japan

  2. Plan multi-channel programs through different business lines, evolve the current siloed event management approach to a more connective, brand driven propositions

  3. Provide added focus on our events/client programs and achieve new distinctive client experiences and operational efficiencies

  4. Usage of data results and analysis to help business lines in making decisions

     Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a 1-3 year vision and plan an overall strategic direction of the firm’s client programs & events to support business momentum

  • Manage flagship events with new flair & ideas in line with the overall marketing direction

  • Partner collaboratively with the channel marketing teams to advance commercial priorities of the business

  • Create an education program for institutional clients in partnership with channel marketing

  • Introduce marketing automation techniques in event planning and CRM segmentation in partnership with channel marketing

  • Partner collaboratively with the channel marketing teams to refine client proposition, content relevance etc

  •    Execute through all logistics, design, speaker, experience & agendas

  • Manage different client engagement opportunities in partnership with channel marketing:

  • flagship Invesco conferences and seminars

  • joint-partner events

  • external sponsorships

  • speaking opportunities

  • visitor roadshows

  • new partnerships

  • incorporate internally run training in EMEA & North America

  • new media forms (webcasts, etc)

  • Oversee client activity/event budgets

  • Source and manage vendor & agency relationships

  • Gather & understand market best practices in events within a modern, digitally-led on/offline world

  • Usage of technology and data analytics in a thoughtful manner to drive results

  • Manage collaterals and other materials related to the running of our events & programs

    • Prioritize workload appropriately

    • Demonstrated project management capability

    • Key contact for external conference & sponsorship opportunities

    • Key internal specialist in event management to advise the business

    • Improve tools to help elevate the marketing event operations (ie Visitor Calendar)

  • Deliver effective, creative & well-run marketing programs/events with strong branding and clear business objectives within budget and timelines

  • Communicate effectively with internal user groups, external business partners and team members in a multi-stakeholder and global operating environment

  • Understand and appreciate stakeholder concerns and be able to address issues from the business & client angles

  • Attention to detail without compromising efficiency

  • Ensure compliance of materials when acting as the main coordinator

  • Escalate concerns appropriately

  • Introduce new plans and drive innovation into the ongoing programming

  • Delineate a clear set of deliverables for event management




 

  Qualifications

  • University graduate in Marketing, Finance, Economics or related discipline

  • At least 8 years working experience, preferably in a financial institution or related field

  • Knowledge of fund industry and fund product is preferred but not required

  • Solid writing skills in English and Chinese

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent project management ability and interest

  • A curious mindset & ability to rethink the status quo

  • A proven team player with good communication skills and organization abilities

  • Able to work under time pressure

  • Managerial experience a plus

  • B2B event management experience; B2C consumer experience can be considered
