Our client is a healthcare services firm operating across various locations in Germany. The firm is backed by an entrepreneurial investment company that has embarked on an exciting growth path over the past years. The firm will continue this expansion both through organic growth and M&A transactions. They are now looking to hire a CFO, to work closely with the management team. The position can be based in Munich / Duesseldorf or Stuttgart - with regular travel required to all German locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leading, managing and motivating the finance function (accounting, controlling, PMI, treasury, financing) across a number of locations, creating streamlined and efficient finance processes and team structure
  • Identification, implementation and optimisation of best-in-class management information systems and KPI steering
  • Budget planning (monthly, yearly and medium-term), forecasting and strategic planning
  • Coordination and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Reporting financial results to the management board, advisory board, lenders and shareholders as well as preparing ad-hoc analyses
  • Supporting the growth / buy-and-build strategy and post-merger-integrations of further acquisitions
  • Design process for and manage integration of substantial number of acquisitions every year
  • Cash and liquidity management, working capital management and managing a multi-layered capital structure
  • Design and embed financial best practices within individual operating units and clinics
  • Main point of contact for the shareholders, banks, auditors and tax advisors

YOUR PROFILE:
  • Excellent academic credentials, ideally with a focus on business administration, finance, accounting or controlling
  • You have gained a well-rounded operational finance skill-set as Finance Director / Head of Controlling; either in a Mittelstands firm, a corporate setting or a PE-backed environment; ideally combined with prior experience working in an auditing firm or a corporate finance advisory firm
  • Sector experience in healthcare and exposure to medical billing is helpful (i.e. dentistry, ophthalomolgy, dialysis, laboratory services, etc.)
  • Experience gained working in German Mittelstand and / or an affinity to German Mittelstand is helpful
  • Past experience working with private equity investors is advantageous, though not a must, what is essential is a very strong awareness of - and grip on - the levers of value in a PE context
  • M&A (financial due diligence) and post-merger integration experience is helpful
  • Can provide financial guidance by engaging with employees of all levels in order to enable them to understand the critical financial metrics
  • Empathic teamplayer, who motivates and inspires others to achieve organizational objectives
  • Excellent analytical skills and outstanding business judgement
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, a self-starter with a high energy level and accustomed to working independently in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to get traction in a small team environment is key: the business is large and fast growing but the immediate team will be modest in size and colleagues will be distributed across Germany. The candidate must be willing and able to bridge between setting direction, delegating, communicating and getting very hands on and driving things personally
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; proven ability to interact professionally across all levels, both internally as well as externally
  • Native German speaker and advanced English skills are required, professional time spent abroad a positive
